BHI Energy (BHI) welcomes Erik Zimmers to the organization as Director of Safety and Human Performance. In this role, Erik will be responsible for leading a wide range of activities related to BHI’s Safety initiatives and Human Performance programs.
Erik brings to BHI a robust Safety and Human Performance background of more than twenty years of experience in Power Construction, Transmission and Distribution, Maintenance, Infrastructure Construction and Demolition, and Environmental Remediation. He comes to BHI Energy from Energy Solutions, where he was their Safety and Health Manager for the Three Mile Island Unit-2 Decommissioning and Demolition Project for the past year.
Prior to Energy Solutions, Erik worked for the Fluor Corporation for over 5 years as a HSE Senior Manager. He also spent over two years with Chicago Bridge and Iron (CB&I) as a HSE Manager, and 12 years as a HSE Manager with the Shaw Group.
Erik holds an MS from West Virginia University in Safety Management and a BS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania along with a BS from Columbia Southern University. He possesses several professional safety certifications including the Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), and the Registered Environmental Manager (REM).
