Olen Richardson Joins BHI Energy as Director of Wind, Renewables Division BHI Energy (BHI) announced today that Olen Richardson has joined the organization as the Director of Wind, in BHI’s Turbines & Renewables Division. In this role, Olen will oversee and manage operations related to all Wind projects – active and future. He will provide leadership in BHI’s business strategy including evolution of our capabilities, training focus and the pursuit of operational excellence. Olen brings more than seventeen years of experience in manufacturing and servicing composite Wind Turbine blades, in a variety of roles ranging from manufacturing/quality, field engineering, operations and executive leadership. After spending 10 years in the Navy, he started his career in the Wind industry with GE’s Wind Energy group. He co-founded and served as CEO of Wind Services Group (now Broadwind Energy), providing engineering and technical expertise to approximately 80% of the wind turbine owners in the US, as well as 6+ of the largest turbine/blade manufacturers with over 20,000 MW class blades in both factory and field. He went on to found Blade Service Consulting where he provided strategic and technical support across design, manufacturing and installation of wind blades. He most recently managed the wind turbine blade repair offering of Mortensen Energy Services. Olen attended Pensacola State College for Civil Engineering and the University of West Florida for Economics, and has earned his Six Sigma Green Belt.
