During the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Unit 1 Reactor building, our trained application technicians encapsulated loose contamination by applying both PBS and StripCoat coatings fixative to 100% of the exterior surfaces of the steam generators, reactor vessel, pressurizer, segmented reactor components and contaminated equipment prior to movement and off-site transport. The coatings were applied to prevent contamination from dislodging and to facilitate safe component movement and transport to off-site burial.
