BHI worked with a US Nuclear facility to implement an Excel Scaffold program using our proprietary Reactor Vessel Head Flange Adapter (RVHFA) technology. Using the RVHFA, time to install was reduced by 300 person hours and a custom assembly was easily achieved, resulting in significantly less dose time than with welded or bolted scaffolding. Excel Scaffold components are lightweight, easy to put together and can be used with lead shielding blankets to reduce dose time even further, in this case dose reductions were in excess of 1.1 rem over the outage.
