BHI announced that Steve Davis has joined the organization as Vice President of Operations Support for the T&D division. In this role, Steve will have programmatic responsibility for safety, human performance, corrective actions, and training/qualifications.
Steve comes to BHI from Day & Zimmerman, where he served as the Vice President of Employee Health & Safety (EH&S). Prior to this, Steve worked with BHI Energy for seven years, last serving as the Director of Safety and Human Performance for T&D, Wind, Hydro, Fossil, Nuclear and the Oil & Gas divisions. He brings a history of leading safety excellence back to BHI’s T&D Division.
Steve began his career in the power industry in 2008 at Progress Energy’s Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant as a Senior Emergency Preparedness Specialist and Human Performance Program Manager. Before entering the power industry, Steve gathered diverse experiences working as a fire protection inspector and fire captain at Oak Ridge National Lab. He also served as a firefighter/paramedic at the city of Oak Ridge. In previous experiences, he worked as a raft guide, hot air balloon pilot and performed aerial stunts for multiple reality TV programs.
Steve holds a MS in Safety Management from the University of Tennessee and earned a BS in Geology from the University of Wyoming and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Previously, he held NREMT Paramedic, Fire Officer I, ICC Fire Inspector I, and Hazardous Materials Technician certifications.
Steve is based in West Palm Beach, FL.
