BHI Energy performed specialty welding work under contractor SNC Lavalin at St. Charles Energy Center, the 725-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle plant in Charles County, Maryland.  Due to schedule challenges and subpar performance by the original contracted welding vendor, BHI mobilized a crew of boilermakers and pipefitter welders to perform the P91 and P22 large bore pipe welds on the unit’s Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and Balance of Plant (BOP) piping.  We successfully completed over 300 large bore x-ray pipe welds with an extremely low rejection rate.  SNC Lavalin Site Manager commented, “The BHI team was very professional and delivered on the promise of first-time quality.”  Contact us to learn more.
